Mauritius has seen the debut of various mobile payment applications in the past few years, and the most visible include Juice by Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB), Blink by Emtel, and MyT Money.

MCB Juice

It is the first and most commonly used payment app in Mauritius. Since the MCB bank came up with this solution in 2010, it has become a go-to mobile payment solution for paying utility bills, indulging in online shopping, and participating in loyalty programs that reward users with points redeemable for discounts and other goodies. 

Moreover, MCB Juice enables customers to automate recurring bills, ensuring timely payments on a set date. It also simplifies sharing bills with friends and family, allowing people to live in the moment without worrying about who owes who.

Blink by Emtel

Licensed by the Bank of Mauritius, the application has reached over 50,000 downloads thus far. It shows that Mauritius residents are more interested in mobile payments than before, thanks to the fact that Blink enables users to connect any bank account for fast transfers, retail payments, invoices, and mobile top-ups for free and from the palm of their hands. 

MyT Money

In 2019, Mauritius Telecom, a leading telecommunications firm in Mauritius, introduced the MyT Money app to bridge the gap in banking and payment, aiming to improve the lives of its 1.3 million residents through innovation and technology.

MyT Money allows users to make payments straight from their mobile phones, removing the need for cash or cards. Customers can choose from which account they would like to pay and settle bills through the app.
