In Ghana, the mobile money system refers to the growing number of payment apps that enable users to pay for things online. Customers may buy groceries, pay bills, and transfer money to loved ones living overseas with a few taps on their phones. 

Mobile payments remove potential roadblocks at checkout, such as high transaction fees and delays caused by several systems not working well together. Instead, it only takes an e-wallet with loaded funds or a QR code to complete payments, making sending money hardly an effort.
