If you have an ANZ New Zealand personal Visa debit or credit card, you can conveniently use Google Pay on your compatible Android smartphone to make contactless payments. Google Pay simplifies the payment process for Android users, allowing them to make secure transactions at stores, online, and within mobile apps.
To use Google Pay, customers will hold their Android phones near the payment terminal while the screen is active. Once the payment is accepted, the phone will emit a sound or vibrate, and they’ll receive a receipt notification on your phone’s screen.
ANZ will replace its current Android mobile wallet, goMoney Wallet, with Google Pay. The transition will take place in October of this year. ANZ was the first bank in New Zealand to introduce a mobile wallet through its banking app back in 2015 with goMoney Wallet.
You can use Google Pay to make purchases while traveling and when shopping online in international stores. However, depending on the payment method you use with Google Pay, you may still be charged foreign transaction fees and other fees for overseas spending. It is why, when conducting international transactions, it is critical to read the fine print for your linked account or card.
